Tapped In Privacy Policy
Tapped In takes your privacy seriously. Please read the following to
learn more about our privacy policy.
What This Privacy Policy Covers
This policy covers how Tapped In treats personal information
that Tapped In collects and receives, including information related to
your past use of Tapped In services. Personal information is information about
you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, or email address,
and that is not otherwise publicly available.
Information Collection and Use
General
- Tapped In collects personal information when you register with Tapped In.
- When you register we ask for information such as your name, email address, gender,
mailing address, zip code, and occupation. Once you register with Tapped In
and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us. Other Tapped In members
can also see your profile information when they are logged in to Tapped In,
except you can optionally hide your email address from other members.
You can choose to have your email address hidden when you register,
or at any time by editing your communication preferences.
- Tapped In automatically receives and records information on our
server logs from your browser, including your IP address, Tapped In
cookie information, and the page you request.
- Tapped In saves chat logs in order to assemble and mail transcripts
to participants. Chat logs of After School Online events are published
on our web site. Chat logs may also be archived for research purposes.
- Tapped In uses information for the following general purposes:
to customize the content you see, fulfill your requests for services,
improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide
anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.
In addition, if your Tapped In membership is through one of our tenant
organizations, Tapped In may be asked by your organization to provide
data to your organization's leaders about your use of Tapped In.
K-12 Students
- Students under the age of 18 are required to have a teacher sponsor.

- Tapped In does not require any identifying information about a
K-12 student to be entered.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Tapped In does not rent, sell, or share personal information about
you with other people or companies except to provide
services you've requested, when we have your permission,
or under the following circumstances:
- We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish
or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
- We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate,
prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud,
situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person,
violations of Tapped In's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
- We transfer information about you if Tapped In is acquired by or merged
with another company. In this event, Tapped In will notify you before information
about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Cookies
- Tapped In may set and access Tapped In cookies on your computer in order
to remember your identity during login sessions.
Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences
General
- You can edit your Tapped In Account Information, including your communication
preferences, at any time.
- New categories of communications may be added to Communication Preferences.
Users who visit this page can opt out of receiving future communications
(such as the monthly newsletter) or they can unsubscribe by following instructions
contained in the messages they receive.
- We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the Tapped In service,
such as important service announcements and administrative messages, without offering
you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.
- If you would like to delete your Tapped In account,
contact us
and ask that your account be deleted.
K-12 Students
- Teachers can review, edit, and delete information relating to K-12 student
accounts that they sponsor.

Confidentiality and Security
- We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we
believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide
services to you or in order to do their jobs.
- We have physical and electronic safeguards to protect personal information about you.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Tapped In may update this policy. We will notify you about significant changes in
the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email
address specified in your Tapped In account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
